It's Springy outside--yeah!

So, it's the most wonderful time of the year...again...Spring. I can smell it in the air. I hear the birds singing and everything is green again. Oh wait, I live in the South and everything is ALWAYS green. Oh well, I love this time of year! However, I find myself cramming to get things done around this time, though and kicking myself for not planning ahead better. It's in these moments that I need to keep reminding myself to live in the present, not in the past and not in the future. I pass a billboard on the way to work each day that says, "Thank you God for past memories. Thank you for the most precious living moments of now." Or something like that. You catch the drift. Anyways, I hope that this encourages ya'll, all my peeps! Wait a second...is anyone out there? Check 1...2.................3? Hello?

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year...

So, with my school program out of the way, I FINALLY feel like I can enjoy this Christmas season. Most of the kids showed up, I only had one go down during a song, and my soloists showed up. All in all, a great experience for me! I feel like I have been sprinting towards December in full throttle and now, as I wait in the airport with a 4 hour layover, I am able to take a nice long breather. I am looking into grabbing some Starbucks to set this night off nicely. Got some Christmas cards done--yes I know it's almost Christmas and yes I am a procratinator when it comes to doing them. So, if you're reading this and still haven't gotten your McKee Christmas card yet, it might be in the mail and if not, Merry Christmas and Season's Greetings! (Budget cut backs in the McKee household) I am SO GLAD it's Christmas. I pray that you will see the Lord this season!

Survived!

Yeah, so I survived the reunion. I can actually say that it was a pleasant experience. Hey, no pun intended! It was nice. So great to see some friends that I have lost touch with. Interesting indeed, how life takes us down some fun and interesting roads. Some people there I never would have expected to end up the way they did. No judgment coming from this woman, though. I certainly never expected to have eaten my way all the way up to twice my size from high school. So, I have NO room to talk! Today was a fun day of spending time with my darling, HOT husband. He is so patient with me and all the errands that I love to take him on throughout the day! He must not have had a too bad of time since he took me to Starbucks! What an angel he is from above! I do adore him with everything that I am. He is a keeper for sure! Well, that be it for now, muchkins. Catch you later...

10 Year High School Reunion

So, back home for the 10 year high school reunion. Man, I wanted to be 130 pounds lighter before I got here. Oh well, old high school friends, eat your heart out! I'm plus-sized and beautiful! Thank you! Anyways, I plan to go to the reunion incognito. Maybe no one will recognize me, I can say I went and then live on with my life. By the way, I am SO GLAD to be back in the Buckeye State, home of the free and land of the brave. It is the most beautiful place in the world, well to me it is. Family is all that counts, you know?

So, anyways, sorry I have been so LAME-O in not keeping up. Since last time you have heard from me, I have been hired on as an elementary music teacher in our public schools of this area. I am LOVING my job and I think I have finally found the reason that I was made for this earth. I was meant to be a teacher ( well, first of all lover of the Lord, then wife, then someday mother, and then comes being a teacher). I am thrilled that the door has opened and I can explore this new passion.

Signing off!

Corporate America

Coming home from a wonderful little trip to Jax, a few days of training, paid meals, deluxe hotel, paid mileage, what could be better? I love it. At this moment in time I'm a-loving my job, my company, my country. Monday will be a different story. The Monday blues will be calling my name, let's hope I get a snow day, oh wait I'm not in Kansas any more Toto. Life goes on hummingly. Living in such a humid lovely place causes for heat stroke every five minutes or so. Jack Frost where are you? Not much else in the life of the McKee's. Peace out.

Life's a beach

So, I know now the reason that I moved to Florida....Again....
The glorious sugar sanded beaches!!!! Oh how wonderful the salty water tastes and how liberating it is to find sneaky hitch-hiking sand in all the body crevices and the warmth of the blotchy red sun-burn I received from the all too welcoming Florida sun. By the way, does the sun burn you more in Florida? I'm sure I have never in my life gotten so burned in all my years in laying out in the sun for say 10 minutes! They need to tell all the whitey's (wait, but since I got sun-burned am I now a pinkie?) out there the caution of being out in the sun during noon day--oh wait, I forgot, I already knew that. But anyways, the glorious beach. It was refreshing to go out there on my day off yesterday. However, I did not enjoy the translucent purple-ish blob with evil tentacles that I encountered at the beach yesterday. After I let out a blood-curdling scream, I realized I could back away slowly and no one would get hurt. On a side note, am I not a local yet if I still tag along my camera every where I go down here? It's a mystery...
